I just hate Charlie so much. I’m counting on you to let me know when she stops being annoying. I know you like her, but you’ve gotta see that she’s really annoying…
Fair enough - I know she isn’t everyone’s favorite. There’s an earnest, self-righteous stoicness there that can be grating. But I remember how wooden Olivia Dunham was when Fringe was starting out (also a JJ Abrams show) and how incredibly wonderful and complex she became as the show went on. I’m partially working on faith that that will happen here (though I have to say my beloved Eric Kripke arguably doesn’t have the greatest track record with female characters).
Perhaps I’m also just bias-making happy to see a female lead on a show like this whose primary trait isn’t “girl.”
My recap of “The Plague Dogs” will be up later today. Expect a lot of Neville talk, probably.
