Look, Halloween is serious business. It’s basically Method acting, where you must “become” your character. After ripping up your clothes, dabbing on that fake blood, and practicing your best undead growl, your roommate’s brains might start to look pretty tasty… why risk it? -

The Walking Dead has no shortage of scary moments (there’s still parts of the pilot episode that haunt my nightmares) and you should always check with your doctor to make sure your heart can handle the screaming and jumping out of your seat that may occur. Still, the HD gore will keep you far away from any desire to snack on human craniums. - Winner: TWD.

There’s this singing competition. It airs on a major network, two nights a week. There are four judges, and each will coach and guide a team of contestants in the hopes that one of “theirs” will win the big prize. One of the judges is a former 90s teen pop star.

Um… if that’s the first line of your segment on the NFL referee situation, it’s probably a pretty big disaster. This edition of Fall Smackdown 2012 is all about the newcomers on the field: in this corner, we have the replacement referees, who are stepping in during the continued lockout of the NFL Referees Association! Aaand in this corner, the five rookie QBs who will be starting this season!

Perhaps the biggest stories of this NFL preseason are Tim Tebow’s move to the Jets and Peyton Manning’s return to the game with the Broncos. These are two of the biggest QBs in the game, so it’s only right that we force them to compete here too, before the Broncos play the Steelers this Sunday (if your school has Tivli, you can watch on NBC this Sunday).
